Dr. Muhammad Zaffar Hashmi received his Ph.D in Environmental Engineering from Zhejiang University, China, in 2015. He is working as a Professor of Environmental Science and Engineering in Department of Meteorology, COMSATS University Islamabad. Hashmi’s innovative, problem-solving approach to explore and efficient bioremediation technology use in contaminated soils and water, focusing on novel microbes (Dehalococcoides), plants, biofilms and innovative genes (methylated, arsM and dioxygenase, bph), has contributed significantly to contaminated soil and water management and sustainable society in Pakistan. Mustafa Science and Technology Foundation Awarded KANS Prize 2018 Diploma on this innovative work. Dr. Hashmi is book series editor with Springer (Emerging contaminants and Associated Treatment Technologies) and Elsevier (Advances in Environmental Pollution Research). Dr. Hashmi has edited four books published by Springer; published 15 book chapters with Springer, and 65 original research articles in prestigious scientific journals having impact factor of >200, h-index 21 and citations=2030 (googlescholar). He is a member of, Pakistan Academy of Sciences, International Society of Toxicology and reviewer of HEC NRPU grants.
